Question:When did the weeping on Imam Hussein (PBUH) start?
Answer:In the name of Allah, the first of those who wept was the Great Prophet (PBUH&HF) for what Allah Almighty revealed to him about what will be going on in the martyrdom of the Imam Hussein (PBUH). Apparently, some narrations attain that every prophet of the former prophets wept after Allah revealed to him what will be happening on the grandson (Imam Hussein) of the Prophet (PBUH&HF).
Question:What is the religious position of weeping over the master of martyrs (PBUH)?
Answer:In the name of Allah, weeping on Imam Hussein is encouraged. It is mentioned about one of the Infallible Imams (PBUH) said that “O Allah, show your mercy on the ones who have wept for our tragedies”. This is a good way to get close to Allah by showing our love to Ahlulbait (PBUH), a matter which cannot be questioned especially by those whose hearts are filled up with faith and loyalty to Ahlulbait (PBUH).
Question:Are the Husseini rituals set by Allah or Prophetic tradition?
Answer:In the name of Allah, the Husseini rituals should be practiced within the framework that the act is not prohibited by a clear and expressive text in terms of meaning and authenticity. It should be motivated by the service of Hussein (PBUH) and to commemorate the Husseini tragedy. Allah is the all Helper.
Question:What is the ruling of consolation with the hitting of the chest and the crying for the tragedies other than of the master of martyrs (PBUH)?
Answer:In the name of Allah, it is a good act and required if you mean other Imams and Lady Zahraa (PBUH). It is a recommended deed. The imams focused on the calamities of their grandfather Hussein (PBUH) but their interest in the disaster of Hussein (PBUH) was more than any calamity. All Shiite should do that as well. Allah knows best.
