  • Question:Does the menstrual period take place by signs? If a woman sees blood in a month twice consecutively without knowing that she is menstruating, but since she was as menstruating she makes menstruation based on the signs, then in the third month she sees yellow blood losing the characteristics of menstruation, then what should this woman do? Should she make herself of a regular period, and consider this yellow blood menstruation, given that she saw it in her period even though she lost the signs, or would she make herself having the pre/post-menstruation blood and having irregular period as long as she is not sure that the previous two bleedings are menstruation?

Answer:In the name of Allah, the blood must continue at a certain time in two months until the period is stable for her, and if the period does not settle, then she must do a check up on what distinguishes menstruation from other bleeding. Allah knows best.
  • Question:If the blood is on the days of menses and is not as menstruation, or is as menstruation and not on the days of menses; do you consider it menstruation or pre/post-menstruation?

Answer:In the name of Allah, the blood on the days of the usual menstrual is definitely blood of menses even if it has no characteristics of menses. The unusual blood seen by the woman whose menses is regular is not menstruation. If the woman’s menses become irregular, she can refer to discrimination in the ways described in our Guide of Islamic Rules (Risala Amalyah). Allah is the All-Guide and Knowing.
  • Question:Some of the great scholars of religion say that if a pregnant woman sees blood before the delivery of the child, and she is certain that the blood is of menstruation, she does what the menstruating woman does, with no difference between being separated from the birth by ten days (less or more) or related to it. This is because the blood of menstruation and blood of postpartum is not separated by, even if it was between two menstruation periods. If the woman does not realize whether the blood is of menses or of pre/post menses, it is one of the two cases: if it is menstrual blood and on days of menstruation, it is considered menstruation, provided that it is confirmed by continuing it for three days. On the other hand, if it is not as menstrual blood nor in normal days, it is considered as pre/post- menstruation blood. If it is menstrual blood and is not on the usual days of menstruation, or on the days of menstruation, but without the characteristic of menstruation, do you consider it menstruation?

Answer:In the name of Allah, if it has the characteristics of menstruation then it is menstruation. Allah knows best.
  • Question:It is commonly known among the religion scholars that it is disliked for menstruating women and in postpartum to recite the Holy Quran, and if the reciting exceeds seventy verses, it will be highly disliked, as it is forbidden to recite the verse of (Sajdah) prostration in Surat Al-Aza’im. The question is whether you have a different opinion from this opinion even if the matter goes between sitting menstruating or postpartum without any worship that she can recite the Noble Quran without the verse of prostration. Is it better for her not to recite or is it better for her to recite, even if it is less reward?

Answer:In the name of Allah, it is desirable for her to recite the entire Quran, but it will be less rewarded during her menstrual and postpartum days. According to my opinion, these women and the men in state of Janabat are not allowed to recite any verse of Al-Sajdah. The terms “dislike” used by other scholars of religion indicates less rewards. Allah knows best.
  • Question:Is it permissible to have a sexual intercourse after menstruation and before washing?

Answer:In the name of Allah, yes, it is permissible after washing the place of blood. Allah knows best.
  • Question:If the blood continues until the third day and stops for about fifteen minutes before sunset, for example or more, then is it menstruation?

Answer:In the name of Allah, if the blood flow is less than three days, then it is not menstruation, then you should know that what is meant by stopping is the final stopping. If the drops keep leaking from time to time, it is not considered as stopping. Allah knows best.
  • Question:A woman whose menstruation only comes to her every two months, once on two or three days, and in this period she sees erysipelas and leaks of blood, so what should she do?

Answer:In the name of Allah, if the menstrual conditions are met along with sings of menses, then it is menstruation. Otherwise, it is not. Allah knows best.
  • Question:Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to enter the Husseini gatherings while she is in menses to listen to Islamic lectures and lessons?

Answer:In the name of Allah, If these lectures are in the mosque, it is not permissible to enter it because they are forbidden to enter and sit in the mosque. If it is not the mosque, there is no objection to attend. Allah knows best.
  • Question:What is the ruling of secretions that come immediately after the break of the menstrual period and are usually brown in color, is it counted from the days of the period or not?

Answer:In the name of Allah, if a woman has a controlled period and these secretions are after them, then they are not counted from menstruation. However, if they are not of a controlled period in terms of number, then those secretions if they were during the ten or interrupted within the ten days, they are regarded as menstruation. Otherwise, they are regarded as pre/post menses (Istihadha). Allah knows best.
  • Question:The blood that a woman who uses medical drugs to delay the menstrual period may be a little and sporadically, but it lasts with her for three days or less, what is the ruling of this blood, if it stops and continues for more than three days, and what is the ruling if it does not last three days? Can the blood, if cut off three hours or less, be called intermittent?

Answer:In the name of Allah, we should know that menstrual blood usually comes out in the form of drops and does not come out as a liquid or flow, otherwise the woman gets anemia. The blood comes out even if the drops are interrupted every few minutes and every few hours or every day and for three days not exceeding ten days. This is menstruation. Allah knows best
