Question:If one is sure that the blood is a womb bleeding between periods (Istihadha), what is the ruling?
Answer:A.Istihadha is of three types: 1. Little: It is characterized by little blood such that it does not soak the piece of cotton. Its ruling is that the cotton is removed or purified and the blood spot is washed, and then wudhu’ is obligatory for each prayer. 2. Normal: It is characterized by more blood than previous on such that it soaks the cotton, but does not bleed out of the other side of the cotton. The ruling here is the same as the previous one in addition to washing before Morning Prayer. 3. Heavy: It is characterized by more blood than the two above such that the blood soaks the piece of cotton and gets outside the other side of the cotton. The ruling here is the same as the previous two, namely washing the area of blood, renewing or purifying the piece of cotton, wudhu’ for each prayer and washing before morning prayer. In addition, there must be other two washes: one for noon prayers and the other before sunset and evening prayers. Allah knows best.
