Question:Is it permissible to spend one-third of the deceased if he does not mention how to spend it in the will to support the popular mobilization forces, the families of martyrs or charitable institutions? Is this considered a continuous charity?
Answer:In the name of Allah, it is not permissible, as in the question, without the consent of the heirs. Allah knows best.
Question:Is it permissible for the deceased's family to replace the amount of the funeral (wake) ceremony by feeding the poor or distributing clothing to them or other acts of charity?
Answer:In the name of Allah, it is permissible to do this, provided that it is not done to insult the heirs of the deceased according to the customs that surround the deceased's heirs. Allah knows best.
Question:Are there narrations for Ahlulbait (PBUH) regarding the ceremonies of the funerals and its days and the distribution of food and others?
Answer:In the name of Allah, narrations are reported that there certain recommended acts in which people visit the afflicted to condole and comfort him by feeding. However, there is no objection to the common ceremonies because they comfort the heart of the afflicted person. The people intended to seek closeness to Allah with this deed. May they be rewarded, but these customs are not mandatory to be abode by. Allah knows best.
Question:What is the reason for reciting Quran on the deceased after eating for the reward? Will the dead eat?
Answer:In the name of Allah, the dead will benefit from the reward of feeding and the reward to read Surat Al-Fatihah from the one who feeds and the one who distributes the food. Allah knows best.
Question:It is customary in some Lebanese villages that if someone died, in first three nights a person is hired to recite the Quran on the grave of the deceased. This work is called the funeral of the dead, what is the legitimacy of this work? Is it enough to put a machine on the tomb without reading directly?
Answer:In the name of Allah, the work is undoubtedly a project and the recording machine is not sufficient in as in the question. Allah knows best.
Question:When reciting Surat Al-Fatiha to the deceased, is it in the name of his father or in the name of his mother? Some say if it is in the name of the mother, it is an innovation, and this speech is not from the Shiites, please explain.
Answer:In the name of Allah, you may give the reward by mentioning the person who died by his name, or without mentioning his name; you only intend to recite the Fatiha. It is valid to mention the name of the father or mother or both when reciting Fatiha on the diseased. Allah knows best.
Question:What is the benefit of the lamp or latrine on the grave? Is that found in Islam to light a candle on the grave?
Answer:In the name of Allah, it is not obligatory to do so on the graves of the public, but it should be brought in the graves of the infallibles (PBUH) because putting off the lamp on their graves is an insult to them in the custom, and it is one of the major sins.
Question:My pregnant wife aborted after 18 weeks of pregnancy and we buried the fetus directly, but some say we should have a funeral for it. Is this true?
Answer:In the name of Allah, as in the question, you must be committed to washing, shrouding and burying it, but it does not require prayer on it. Allah knows best.
