Sheikh Al-Najafy praised the efforts of scholars and representatives in serving the Muslim Ummah, emphasizing the significance of their work amid current challenges. "Serving religion and society is a blessing from Allah Almighty," he noted, expressing gratitude for their knowledge and urging them to continue striving for the well-being of the Islamic nation.
Memorial for the Martyr Hassan Nasrallah
The event included a tribute to the late martyr Hassan Nasrallah, acknowledging his role as a courageous leader and a staunch defender of the Ummah's causes. Sheikh Al-Najafy highlighted Nasrallah's steadfastness and his exemplary commitment to Islamic principles and the defense of Muslim communities against cultural and military threats.
Criticism of International Human Rights Organizations
Sheikh Al-Najafy voiced strong criticism of biased international human rights organizations, accusing them of turning a blind eye to the atrocities committed by Israel, including killings, ethnic cleansing, and mass exterminations. He condemned the double standards of Western countries, accusing them of portraying themselves as defenders of humanity while supporting Israel's aggression against Palestinians and Lebanese.
Recommendations for Clerics: Solidarity and Support
The conference issued a recommendation calling on religious scholars to promote Islamic human solidarity and support for oppressed peoples. Sheikh Al-Najafy stressed the need for financial and humanitarian aid, particularly for Lebanon, urging Muslims to contribute to relief efforts. He also warned of potential regional instability, cautioning against the possibility of the Lebanese conflict spilling over into neighboring countries, including Iraq and Syria.
Call for Readiness and Addressing Intellectual Threats
In his keynote address, Sheikh Al-Najafy also called for vigilance and preparation in the face of the intellectual and social challenges targeting the Islamic identity. He urged religious scholars and institutions to stay committed to Islamic values and principles, and to counter efforts aimed at undermining Islamic unity and identity. He emphasized the importance of religious clerics playing an active role in facing these threats, especially in a time of growing ideological and cultural warfare.
The conference concluded with calls for greater cooperation and unity among Islamic communities, reinforcing the shared responsibility of safeguarding the values of Islam in light of the current crises facing the region.
This significant gathering underlines the continuing commitment of the Najaf religious seminary to providing spiritual and moral leadership in a time of mounting social and political challenges, both locally and globally.
