In his office in the holy city of Najaf, His Eminence the Marjaʿ (religious authority), Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir Hussain al-Najafi (may Allah prolong his life), welcomed several distinguished delegations of visitors from the Islamic Republic of Iran who had come to visit the shrines of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in Iraq.
During the meetings, His Eminence offered a series of paternal advice and valuable guidance addressing crucial aspects of Muslim life. He emphasized that one of the clearest signs of the acceptance of visiting the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) is a tangible, positive transformation in the visitor’s behavior and character, making them a true reflection of the morals and virtues of the righteous role models—the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
His Eminence stressed the importance of constant self-accountability, given its profound impact on refining one’s soul and purifying it from flaws and sins. He underscored the necessity of accompanying this self-reckoning with sincere repentance, genuine self-reform, and seeking forgiveness from those whose rights may have been violated.
In his directives, Grand Ayatollah al-Najafi emphasized the imperative of full adherence to Islamic legal principles and religious rulings, avoiding all that is forbidden, and earnestly striving to understand and act upon religious truths.
At the conclusion of the meetings, His Eminence reminded the delegations of the great historical and scholarly role undertaken by the holy city of Najaf as the capital of Shiism and a towering academic center. He noted that the Najaf Seminary has, throughout the ages, produced eminent scholars, jurists, and thinkers who have exerted tremendous efforts in spreading the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) across the world.
The visitors expressed their profound gratitude for His Eminence’s invaluable guidance, affirming their determination to act upon it and follow the path of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). It is worth mentioning that the delegations came from various regions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, each arriving separately.
