The office of Grand Ayatollah Al-Najafy (may Allah prolong his life) welcomed delegations of pilgrims from the Islamic Republic of Iran as part of the events organized for visitors heading to the holy shrines in Iraq to perform the Arbaeen rituals.
The gathering included a lecture delivered by His Eminence Sayyid Muhammad Tahir Al-Jaza’iri, in which he discussed the importance of ethical conduct in dealing with others. He cited Prophetic traditions and narrations from Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them) that encourage kindness toward people, highlighting its role in fostering healthy social relationships.
In his lecture, Sayyid Al-Jaza’iri stated: "Kindness toward people is half of wisdom, as narrated from the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him and his family). Kindness is not merely about affection; it is an action and behavior that entails doing good to others, whether they are righteous or even sinful. Religion calls us to reflect reason and mercy in our conduct, not the aversion or resentment hidden in hearts."
"A believer must cultivate patience in dealing with people, for it is not a condition of a good deed that its recipient be deserving. Rather, the narrations of Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them) encourage doing good to both the virtuous and the wicked. If these morals are practiced during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, they represent a radiant aspect of Shiism and embody the message of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in selflessness and mercy." He added.
Sayyid Al-Jaza’iri emphasized that the Arbaeen pilgrimage is not merely a ritual act of worship but a behavioral and spiritual school that manifests love, solidarity, and self-improvement. He urged the pilgrims to be exemplary in their morals and good conduct.
