His Eminence the religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi (may Allah prolong his life), welcomed His Excellency the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Mr. Mohammad Kazem Al Sadiq, along with his accompanying delegation, at his office in Najaf Al-Ashraf.

His Eminence recalled the martyrs of the Islamic nation, particularly those who fell as a result of the attacks targeting the Islamic Republic of Iran, foremost among them the religious authority and leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyid Martyr Ali al-Husseini al-Khamenei (may his soul be sanctified).

His Eminence supplicated to Almighty God that this distress be lifted, that this unjust war come to an end, and that security and stability prevail in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the sister Republic of Lebanon. He also prayed to the Almighty (Glorified and Exalted be He) to elevate the ranks of the martyrs and to grant the wounded a swift recovery.
