His Eminence, the Religious Authority Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir al-Najafi (may Allah prolong his life), received Sayyid Abdullah al-Shirazi and his accompanying delegation in his central office in Najaf al-Ashraf, as part of the meetings His Eminence holds with visiting figures and delegations.

His Eminence welcomed the esteemed delegation, praying for their success and rectitude in their endeavors and efforts, and asking Allah Almighty to grant everyone success in what serves religion and society.

During the meeting, His Eminence spoke about the great status enjoyed by the city of Najaf al-Ashraf, for which God Almighty has bestowed the honor of housing the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him). He affirmed that this blessed city represents a beacon of knowledge and faith, and a destination for seekers of learning and virtue from all over the world.
