Question:There is an endowment for providing burial shrouds for the deceased, and currently there is no one in need of the donated shroud. Is it permissible to allocate it for other matters related to the deceased, such as using it to pay for grave digging?
Answer:In the name of Allah, in the assumed scenario - if the funds obtained from the endowment are specifically designated for burial shrouds - then it is not permissible. It is the responsibility of those in charge of managing the endowment to announce to the public so that people can benefit from these funds. Allah knows best.
