Question:I am a husband facing a marriage problem nowadays. The court has issued a divorce. However, now, I would not like the divorce of the religious ruler as I intend reconciliation with my wife. I have read the religious issues in this regard, i.e., the divorce of the religious man, that the religious man would give a choice to the husband either to divorce and pay the alimony on the one hand and good treatment on the other. My questions are: a. What is the amount of alimony that the husband should afford to avoid the religious divorce? b. What is meant by kind treatment from the husband's side to avoid that divorce? c. What are the rights that the husband should provide to avoid that divorce?
Answer:In the name of Allah, the husband shall provide decent residence, clothing, food, and the like to his family, in addition to all that the wife likes according to the husband's capacity. Furthermore, the husband shall be with the wife in bed at night every four nights, and he shall copulate with her once every four months at least. Allah knows best.
