Question:Is it necessary to inquire about the meat in the market of Muslims? What is the principle of the Muslim market according to your view?
Answer:In the name of Allah, be advised, my son, that in my view, the market of Muslims is evidence of the permissibility of the meat displayed in it, provided that the majority of the people in the market outwardly adhere to the religion, such as in the market of Najaf Al-Ashraf and similar places. It is also evidence of the purity of the skins of animals that are permissible to eat, and likewise for anything that requires proper slaughtering, purity, and ownership. This ruling does not apply if you come to know that a person is not religiously observant. Allah knows best.
Question:If a person enters a restaurant in a Muslim market, and the meat is imported from a non-Muslim country, and he asks whether the imported meat is slaughtered according to Islamic guidelines, what is the ruling of eating it in the following cases: 1-If the restaurant owner confirms that the meat is slaughtered according to Islamic guidelines? 2-If the restaurant owner states that he does not know whether the meat is slaughtered according to Islamic guidelines or not? 3-If the restaurant owner remains silent and does not answer the question?
Answer:Answer 1: In the name of Allah, if he is assured by his statement, then it is permissible for him to eat. Allah knows best. Answer 2: In the name of Allah, if he does not claim that the meat is from a Muslim market, then it is recommended to avoid eating what is cooked in his restaurant as it necessitates questioning. Allah knows best. Answer 3: In the name of Allah, if his behavior is as you described, then avoid eating. Allah knows best.
