Question:A woman goes to a gold merchant and exchanges a gold ring for another gold ring, paying an additional amount of money along with her ring to obtain the new one. (1) Is this transaction permissible? (2) Does the ruling differ if both rings have the same weight or different weights? (3) Is it permissible for her to sell her ring and then buy another one from the merchant?
Answer:1: In the name of Allah, this transaction is permissible with its conditions, including that one of the exchanged items should not weigh more than the other. If the ring she is purchasing weighs more than the one she is selling, she must pay the price of the excess gold separately. Allah knows best. 2: In the name of Allah, the answer is understood from the previous response. Allah is the Guide. 3: In the name of Allah, this is permissible, and it is the best, most complete, and precautionary option. Allah knows best.
Question:Do you have a religious way to evade usury when lending money to someone?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if the dealing is under the title of "selling and buying", then it is the best way to evade usury. It is like you sell one thousand with an amount of two thousands and you receive the price later. Allah knows best.
