Question:Your Eminence, the Grand Religious Authority, Ayatollah Sheikh Bashir Al-NajafY (may Allah prolong his life), Q. What is the ruling of a candidate for Parliament who spends money in order to buy votes? What is the ruling of voters who take money for selling their votes? Group of believers
Answer:In the name of Allah, it is forbidden for the candidate to use public and private money to buy votes. It is also forbidden for voters to sell their votes, as one’s vote is in his hands. Selling votes spreads corruption in the government. If one of the citizens is afflicted by taking money, he does not have to fulfill what he promised the candidate with. Allah knows best.
Question:I collect a set of religious questions and answers, and I exert efforts for collecting and preparing them. Some people copy and publish them in their names, and when I ask them they say (Make your work for the sake of God. What you do is hypocrisy forbidden). The question is: 1. Is it permissible to take these publications and attribute them to someone other than their publisher? 2. Is claiming for that really considered hypocrisy, forbidden, and an act which is not for the sake of God?
Answer:In the name of Allah, it is not permissible for what he wrote or wanted to print or publish under his name to be taken from him by others without his consent. If someone did that, he was usurping. The owner of the papers is allowed to claim, and that is not considered hypocrisy and forbidden. Allah is all Guide and Knowing.
