Question:A person suffering from diabetes needs to measure their blood sugar levels several times a day. A sensitive patch has been invented for them in modern medicine, consisting of a plastic piece with a needle in the middle that is inserted into the skin, and adhesive edges to stick to the arm skin. It remains for two weeks, during which the blood sugar level can be read by passing the reading device over it at any time of day or night. This patch is used to avoid the repetitive needle pricks in the traditional method several times a day, which may cause a considerable amount of harm and possibly other consequences. This patch prevents water from reaching the skin where it is attached to the arm. Is it permissible to use it for someone who is required to perform obligatory washing (ghusl) during the two weeks?
