Question:What is the ruling if a pilgrim is required to perform the stoning of the Jamarāt from the upper levels, such as the second, third, or fourth floor? What is the ruling specifically on the 10th day, upon which other actions like slaughtering and shaving depend? Would stoning from those levels suffice so the pilgrim may proceed with the remaining rituals?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if the upper part of the Jamrah structure is connected to the lower part, then there is no problem. Allah knows best.
Question:It is known in Islam that Imam Ali (PBUH) destroyed all idols in the Kaaba during the conquest of Mecca, because it is clear and known that Islam is against idols and idolatry. However, the question: Why should the pilgrim throw stones at the Jimar (rock) or the wall that represents Satan? What is the evidence?
Answer:In the name of Allah, the work of the Prophet (PBUH), its ruling, and the biography of Muslims to date, and the correct and considered narrations held by all Muslims say that throwing stones is obligatory. Moreover, throwing stones is not throwing idols, it is throwing at a rock that was erected since the time of the Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) in a place where Satan tried to distract him and divert his son from their religious duty. Throwing is a symbolic stoning of Satan, not stoning of idols. Allah knows best.
