Question:Is standing under the shower considered some kind of complete immersion of the head in the water?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if the shower was so wide and heavily pouring that the water covers the head in all of its side, it is considered a kind of the complete immersion. If the fasting person stands under this kind of shower knowingly and deliberately, his fasting is invalid and he has to pay kaffara and perform qadhaa fasting. However, his fasting is valid if he washes his head in parts where he washes one part and then another part after taking the first part out of water. If the shower was not of the kind mentioned above, as it is found Iraq, where the water drips, not pours and does not cover the entire head, it does not invalidate the fasting in case the fasting person stands under it. Allah knows best.
