Question:Is the obligation to pay Fast-breaking Zakat on the night of Eid only related to visiting other at the night of Eid, or do hosting and sleeping over have particular rules, keeping the obligation of providing the guest: a. If some people visited a him at Eid night, should any member of his family pay the Fast Breaking Zakat or Should only he (the breadwinner) pay it? b. If the breadwinner himself visited another person, should both of them pay the Fast Breaking Zakat or should the host (who is also a breadwinner) pay it? c. If the breadwinner himself visited another person, should both of them pay the Fast Breaking Zakat or should the host (who is also a breadwinner) pay it on behalf of the guests?
Answer:In the name of Allah, the host should pay the Fast Breaking Zakat of his guest who is to stay up over night at the former’s house.
Question:Some of the men of religion say that the amount of the Saa' is 3 Kg and 480 g. How much is the Saa 'according to the opinion of your Eminence?
Answer:In the name of Allah, Saa’ represents three Kg. Allah knows best.
Question:Which is better in giving Fast-breaking Zakat: wheat, barley, dates, raisins, or rice?
Answer:In the name of Allah, dates are better. Allah knows best.
Question:Is it permissible to pay Fast-breaking Zakat on the days of Ramadan?
Answer:In the name of Allah, it is not considered a Fast-breaking Zakat before Eid is confirmed, but it may be paid to the poor under the title of a loan and then considered as a Fast-breaking Zakat when the Eid is confirmed. Allah knows best.
Question:When should Fast-breaking Zakat be paid and when should it be taken out or isolated?
Answer:In the name of Allah, Fast-breaking Zakat should be taken out and isolated at the night of Eid and must be brought out before the end of the day of Eid. Deliberately delayed, one commits a sin and Fast-breaking Zakat will be in one’s charge till paying it. Allah knows best.
Question:If the poor takes a loan in an amount which provides him and his family, would he be considered in Sharia as rich enough to pay Fast-Breaking Zakat?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if he is capable of paying back the debt, he is not considered as poor. He is obliged to pay the Fast-breaking Zakat. Allah knows best.
Question:If one pays the Fast-breaking Zakat during the month of Ramadan with the intention of the loan: 1. If this one dies before the crescent moon of the month of Eid, what is the ruling of his heirs? Will Fast-breaking Zakat drop of him? 2. If the beneficiary has died before the crescent moon of the month of Eid, does the payer of the Fast-breaking Zakat have to pay it again because he was not charged with paying it again because he was not obliged to pay it before the Eid?
Answer:A. 1. In the name of Allah, If payer died before the confirmation of the Eid, one will not be charged with the Fast-breaking Zakat. Allah knows best. A. 2. In the name of Allah, If the heirs of the deceased who is in debt did not inherit from the deceased what covers the debt, the grantor is allowed to regard the loan as Fast-breaking Zakat. Otherwise, it is not regarded as Fast-breaking Zakat. Allah knows best.
Question:Is it permissible to bring that Fast-breaking Zakat from a country to another, such as Syria or Iraq, to support our brothers who have been afflicted by the terror of the Takfiri groups?
Answer:In the name of Allah, it is permissible to transport, but if in the country of Fast-breaking Zakat there are people who are starving, only the Fast-breaking Zakat will be provided. The rest should be sent to Iraq for the purpose mentioned in the question. Allah knows best.
Question:We are a group responsible for the management of one of the mosques. Is it permissible for us to collect Fast-breaking Zakat from the believers from the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan and deliver it to the beneficiaries before the Eid so that the poor benefit from Ramadan offers and the discounts that are made in the shops during Ramadan?
Answer:In the name of Allah, you should know that the money you collect form the believers is not regarded as Fast-breaking Zakat till the Eid is due; it will be a trust with you. You can only give this trust to the poor with the consent of its owners and by under the title of the loan. Then, the poor will be given - by owners or by you through an authorization from the owners - the Fast-breaking Zakat at the Eid.
Question:If the money one paid as Fast-breaking Zakat was sufficient to buy the common food in the country, but did not see the quality or the name of that food. Does that compensate Fast-breaking Zakat?
Answer:In the name of Allah, Yes it does compensate Fast-breaking Zakat. Allah knows best.
