His Eminence Sheikh Al-Najafy, in his opening speech, began by saying: "Let there arise out of you a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain felicity."

This verse emphasizes the importance of the concepts of reform, enjoining good, and forbidding evil, which are at the core of the genuine Islamic movement.

He also blessed the efforts of those organizing the meeting aimed at the city's development and preserving its status and sanctity.

He continued to emphasize the importance of the verse's message through the command of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) to Imam Hasan (peace be upon him): "Do not neglect enjoining good and forbidding evil, lest the worst among you are appointed over you, and then your prayers will not be answered."

 This indicates the historical inevitability that any nation that disregards the society in which it lives, and neglects enjoining good and forbidding evil, will be dominated by the worst of its people, leading to the cessation of hope and supplication for them.

His Eminence stressed the importance of preserving societal identity, pointing out its pillars and the duty incumbent upon us to play active roles through families, society, schools, law, and ultimately the religious institution, to ensure the soundness of reform projects within society.

"We congratulate your meeting, which seeks to preserve the identity composed of religion and traditions," He affirmed, emphasizing to the audience the importance of directing Iraqi society towards human and religious perfection and progress, and preserving all levels and social classes of Iraqi society, for which the sons of this country have sacrificed tirelessly.
