Holy Najaf — With the advent of the sacred month of Muharram, the eternal Husayni covenant is renewed in the precincts of Holy Najaf, as the central office of His Eminence the Religious Authority, Sheikh Al-Najafy (may Allah prolong his life), holds its annual mourning council dedicated to the first ten days of the sacred month of Muharram, with the blessed participation of His Eminence (may Allah prolong his life), and a wide attendance that included an elite group of seminary scholars, professors, and students, in addition to large crowds of believers.

His Eminence's representative and director of his central office, Sheikh Ali Al-Najafy, affirmed that this council represents an extension of the approach of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in preserving religious identity and maintaining its authentic essence. He explained that commemorating this occasion is not limited to recalling the tragedy and reviving the memory alone, but goes beyond that to become an educational and spiritual platform that contributes to entrenching Husayni values in the collective consciousness, and renews the connection to the authentic Muhammadan Islamic constants that were preserved by the sacrifices of Imam Hussain, his family, and his companions (peace be upon them).

His Eminence pointed out that reviving the rituals of Ashura with awareness and responsibility represents a safety valve for the nation in facing contemporary intellectual and cultural challenges, emphasizing that these rituals embody a legal and moral duty that connects successive generations to the eternal epic of truth in confronting deviation, so that Husayni values remain a starting point for reform, a source of steadfastness in principles, and a beacon of guidance across various times and circumstances.
