PROCESSION OF THE CENTRAL OFFICE OF HIS EMINENCE GRAND AYATOLLAH AL-NAJAFI PROVIDES OVER A QUARTER OF A MILLION MEALS TO PILGRIMS DURING ARBAEEN SEASON AND DEMISE ANNIVERSARY OF THE NOBLE PROPHET (PBUH&HP) 16/8/2026 ![]() |
The Procession of the Central Office of His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Al-Najafi
concluded its annual service program dedicated to offering comprehensive
services and facilities to pilgrims arriving in the Holy City of Najaf to
commemorate the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and the demise
anniversary of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon them both). The field services of the procession commenced on the 6th of Safar
al-Khair and continued uninterruptedly until the end of the month, providing
necessary care and hospitality to the guests of the Commander of the Faithful (peace
be upon him). In a statement to the Media Department, Haj Ali Muhi-ud-Din, Director of
the Office of the Representative of His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Al-Najafi,
confirmed that these efforts were carried out under the direct guidance of His
Eminence Grand Ayatollah Al-Najafi (may his shade long continue) to sustain
this annual service. He noted that the procession operated around the clock to
provide meals and beverages, alongside securing accommodation and rest areas
for vast numbers of pilgrims. Muhi-ud-Din pointed out that the total services provided throughout this
period exceeded 250,000 meals, distributed across three daily meals (breakfast,
lunch, and dinner). Over Half a Million Cups of Water and Nearly 156,000 Cups of Juices
and Dairy Drinks Muhi-ud-Din added that the procession continued its support services for
pilgrims, distributing over half a million cups of cold water, in addition to
approximately 6,000 cups of juices and dairy drinks daily, totaling nearly
156,000 cups throughout the service period.
This humanitarian and religious initiative forms part of the integrated annual program of the Office of His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Al-Najafi (may Allah prolong his life) in Holy Najaf, aimed at supporting the general service plan, enhancing facilities provided to pilgrims, and ensuring comfort for visitors arriving from both inside and outside Iraq. |
