Question:Is there a difference between "lā yajūz" (not permissible) and "ḥarām" (forbidden)?
Answer:In the name of Allah, from a linguistic standpoint, there is a difference in form and meaning. The jurist chooses each expression based on his conviction in the context of the fatwa. Allah is the Guide.
Question:Who has the authority to issue fatwas?
Answer:In the name of Allah, the competent jurist who is a mujtahid in the technical Islamic legal sense. Allah is the Guide.
Question:What books do you recommend for learning proper ethics and manners, the ethics of the Noble Prophet and the Ahlulbait (peace be upon them all)?
Answer:In the name of Allah, you should read the book Tuhaf al-Uqul An Ale-Rasool (The Masterpieces of the Intellects about the prophet) and Makarim al-Akhlaq (The Noble Ethics). Also, the book To the Youth, which has been distributed several times by our office, and The Repentant is Beloved of Allah. If you are able, make it a habit to read the works of our scholars on the biography of the Prophet and the Imams (PBUT), such as the writings of Syedd Ja'far Murtadha Al-Amili. Allah knows best.
Question:According to the opinion that imported leather from non-Muslim countries is impure, the question arises: If it is generally known that among these imported leathers there are both properly slaughtered and improperly slaughtered items, can one assume that they are pure?
Answer:In the name of Allah, specifically regarding meat and leather, this principle does not apply due to the rule of assuming improperly slaughtering for anything that comes to us from non-Muslims. Allah knows best.
Question:What is the practical application of the verse: "If a wicked person comes to you with information, verify it, lest you harm people out of ignorance" in our daily lives?
Answer:In the name of Allah, if someone comes to you with news that involves defaming someone or demands the veneration or praise of a person, it is not permissible to accept this news if the person is wicked, to confirm what the news suggests as we mentioned. Allah knows best.
Question:Do you consider all the narrators in the chains of transmission of the book Kamil Al-Ziyarat to be trustworthy?
Answer:In the name of Allah, this has not been proved for me. Allah knows best.
Question:Does the principle of "It is wrong to punish without a clear statement" contradict the principle of "The obligation to avoid potential harm"?
Answer:In the name of Allah, there is no contradiction between them due to the difference in their subject matter. Allah knows best.
Question:Does the principle of the Rule of Commitment "Ilzam apply within other schools of thought, or is it specific to the Imamiyya (Shi'a) school?
Answer:In the name of Allah, it appears from some fatwas of the general public (non-Imamiyya) that they believe in this principle. Allah knows best.
Question:Is the Rule of Commitment (Qa'idat al-Ilzam) a secondary or primary ruling?
